One of the women of the village of Meenatchipuram in which we worked in 2013 for the SO WATER project, one day called out to us and proposed to consider a way to reap the toilet wastewater to irrigate small gardens. As for her, she had a vegetable garden and Ayurvedic and medicinal plants.
So we launched this component of actions in 2018, in our WATSAN project.
In each village 30 organic vegetable gardens will be set up and women will be trained in manual farming techniques, without the use of chemicals.
Thus, they will be able to improve their nutrition and sell the surplus of their production in the local markets.
